Stephen King’s “Thinner” Reunion Presented by the Oceanside International Film Festival, January 20, 2024
(Oceanside, California, January 10, 2024 – Special to the US Times) The Oceanside International Film Festival proudly presents the STEPHEN KING’S ““THINNER“ Special Reunion Screening on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, Brought to you by Visit Oceanside.
This Exclusive Event features a special big screen presentation of the classic thriller with appearances by Legendary Horror Film Director Tom Holland, with Robert John Burke, Joe Mantegna, and Makeup and Visual Effects Artist, Vincent J. Guastini. All will all be on hand for a not-to-miss retrospective Q&A discussion on Tom’s career in filmmaking and a behind the scenes discussion about the film. There will also be an opportunity for a limited meet and greet after the screening.
In STEPHEN KING’S THINNER, an obese lawyer (Billy Halek, played by Robert John Burke) finds himself growing “Thinner” when a mysterious carney (Michael Constantine) places a hex on him. Now the lawyer must call upon his friends in organized crime (Joe Mantegna) to help persuade the old man to lift the curse. Time is running out for the desperate lawyer as he draws closer to his own death, & grows ever thinner by the day.

A bit of interesting trivia popped up! Oceanside’s very own Carly Starr Brullo Niles, Co-Programer and Creative Director of the OIFF, Founder of Love Machine Films, and Executive Director of KOCT worked on the film. We are curious how she handled all that blood!
