AI Can Help You Create Your Company Logo
But, you will still need your own brain power and creativity to bring it to life.
Here’s a step by step tutorial.
(April 1, 2023, by Cirina Catania) In today’s digital age, creating a strong and visually appealing brand is crucial to the success of any company. One of the key elements of any brand is the logo, which serves as the face of the company and helps to establish brand recognition. However, designing a logo can be a challenging and time-consuming process, especially for those without a background in graphic design. This is where AI can help. In this article, we will discuss how to generate a logo using AI, using K20 Stories, a newly formed entity that enhances and inspires media literacy training for students and their teachers/professors, as an example.
Step 1: Choose an AI logo generator
There are several AI logo generators available online, each with its unique features and capabilities. Some popular options include Canva, Tailor Brands, and Logojoy. For the purposes of this tutorial, we will be using Canva.
Step 2: Enter your company name and tagline
Once you have chosen an AI logo generator, the first step is to enter your company name and tagline. For K20 Stories, the company name would be entered as “K20 Media” and the tagline could be “Inspiring Future Filmmakers”.
Step 3: Select your industry and style
The next step is to select your industry and preferred style. This will help the AI logo generator to suggest design elements that are relevant to your business and align with your brand personality. For K20 Media, the industry would be education, and the style could be modern and minimalist.
Step 4: Choose your colors and fonts
Color and font selection are essential elements of any logo design. You can either choose your brand colors and fonts or let the AI logo generator suggest them for you. For K20 Stories, the brand colors could be teal, black and white, representing creativity, trustworthiness, growth, and innovation. The font could be a clean and modern sans-serif font, such as Helvetica or Arial. In this case, we wanted to match the Bungee font used in the logo for HSMC – High School Media Collective (designed by Iain Andersen in Australia). So I pulled that font into our Canva project.
Step 5: Customize your logo
Once you have entered all the relevant information, the AI logo generator will present you with several logo design options. You can customize these designs by changing the colors, fonts, and layout to better suit your preferences. You can also drag in elements (graphics) to illustrate your mission. For K20 Media, a modern and minimalist logo design would incorporate the brand colors with stylized colors and fonts.
It took a while to decide which one we liked, but ultimately, we found one that seems to work well for print, web, horizontal and square versions.
Step 6: Download and use your logo
Once you are happy with your logo design, you can download it in various formats, including PNG, JPEG, and SVG. You can use your logo on your website, social media profiles, business cards, and other marketing materials to establish brand recognition and enhance your professional image.
Conclusion
Most importantly, whichever method you choose for designing a logo, it is very important to remain aware of your corporate mission, branding goals, and intended use for the images. This is why it takes human intervention and editing to come to a solution that works for your company.
Generating a logo using AI is a quick and easy way to create a professional-looking design that aligns with your brand personality. By following these simple steps, you can create a logo that represents your business and helps you stand out in a crowded marketplace.
For K20 Media, a modern and minimalist logo design that incorporates the brand colors and stylized colors and fonts could be an effective way to establish brand recognition and appeal to their target audience, while the tagline “Inspiring Future Filmmakers” highlights their mission and values. We will likely be creating more iterations that include our tag line as well.
