Berlinale Forum 2021: “First 54 Years” by Avi Mograbi


Avi Mograbi, Director of “The First 54 Years,” to premiere his film at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival, Forum Section

(Berlin, Germany, February 15, 2021, by Cirina Catania) Drawing on his knowledge of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza strip, Mograbi has created a documentary feature offering what he calls, a “Manual for Military Occupation.”

The film will have its world premiere in the Forum Section at the Berlinale 2021. (The final Festival schedule to be announced shortly.)

Mograbi has a long history in documentary cinema and was selected to present his film, “Pour un seule de mes deux yeux,” at the Festival de Cannes in 2005. He followed that endeavor with film “Z32” in 2009, the first-hand stories of Israeli terrorist as they confession their crimes.
