NAB 2017: Happy 30th, Canon Digital!
It’s been thirty years since Canon first released the DSLR and fourteen years since Canon first took the ranks as the #1 interchangeable-lens digital camera. The imaging business has changed greatly since then, but Canon today announced that they have maintained their position on the perch with top global revenues for 14 straight years. Congrats!
It all started in 2003 with the EOS Digital Rebel.
Over the years, Canon has developed the EOS-1D series and the EOS 5D series, surfing huge waves in the DSLR market.
In March of 2016, the EOS 80D was released to the prosumer market.
April 2016 saw the EOS-1D X Mark II, created especially for the high-speed sports photography market with 14 frame-per-second shooting and the EOS 5D Mark IV with 4K capability.
Canon will be exhibiting at the National Association of Broadcasters convention (NAB) from April 24-27, Central Hall.
